“The mission of Wigton Baths Trust is: to secure and develop the baths for the use of people of all ages in Wigton and the surrounding areas.”
Wigton Baths Trust
Wigton baths is run by the Wigton Baths Trust.

In September 2013 the pool was closed by the council after it was pinpointed as a suspected source of a pollution leak.
In February 2014 the Wigton Baths Trust was formed to try and takeover the running of the pool.
Along with a brilliant campaign by the people of Wigton and its surrounding areas, we were able to get the pool reopened.

The trust became a registered company and charity. The council gave the trust the ability to control certain aspects of the pool. The trust quickly moved to improve the opening hours, introduce new sessions and train new lifeguards. The ladies changing rooms were refurbished and more improvements are in the pipeline.

On the 23rd March 2015, the Wigton Baths Trust officially took ownership of the Wigton Baths.

Thank you all so much for your support, we couldn’t have achieved any of this without it and the pool would have stayed closed forever. We’ve come a long way and there’s still a long way to go, but with your help we can make the Wigton Baths everything the local community wants and deserves.
